7-Figure Habits

When you meet someone who makes a lot of money, quite often they have certain habits that make you think:

“Yeah, I can see why you make that much money.”

And it usually it triggers you to ask yourself:

“Do I exhibit the habits I would have if I was making $X amount?”

Usually, the answer is that you aren’t.

If you really think about it, you probably don’t get that much work done, you probably don’t have a clear planning process, and you are probably reactive to things in your environment like client messages or team questions.

This is very normal, because this is everyone in 2024, including me at times.

But if you want to make 7-8 figures online, you don’t really get to be normal.

You either have to be talented enough to make it work without the great habits, or you have to do everything in your power to optimise your output. Ideally both.

Honestly I think it is a myth to remain 1000% consistent and locked in all the time, and I don’t think you need to purge your vices, but there are definitely things you can actively do that will make you more money.

One of those things is keeping a written journal.

If there was one thing that has helped me grow my businesses and navigate relationships the most, it is keeping a journal.

I think it kind of has this stigma of being soy because of the ‘Dear Diary’ type marketing you see in chick flicks.

But in reality, having a journal allows you to:

  • Keep notes/reminders for yourself about how to act in a future situation

  • Have the presence of mind from coaching yourself while writing. It is kind of like talking to yourself. This helps you create more fully formed thoughts, which helps you make better decisions and also communicate

  • Remove things from your mind. Instead of having to remember 50 things about the day, or try to remember the action steps from that meeting, you just write them down.

  • Have a long term log of what you were thinking and doing in certain situations. If I am ever in a rut, I go back to my journals from 2020 and 2021 and do the exact same thing that has gotten me out of ruts in the past. Wouldn’t be possible without having journaled for years.

If you want to get started doing this, here is a list of stuff you can do:

  1. Have a written to do list with checkboxes

  2. Create an “EOD Report” for yourself. Ask yourself what you learned, any major action items you need to do the next day, and any observations you made

  3. If there are any gold nuggets you hear on meetings or any good tweets you read, you can list them down

  4. If you need to think through a problem, just sit there and write about the situation so you can clear your head. Then at the end, give yourself action steps on how to improve it

  5. If you are faced with a decision, list out all your options, write pros and cons of each, make a list of trusted advisors to consult with, then make notes on what they said. Then you can start crossing out the options you don’t want, and eventually you will come to a decision.

Hope this helps

Namaste.
