Brutal reality of online coaching
This morning I was completely dumbfounded.
I was onboarding a new client for 1000x Leads, and he talked about how he’d spent over 30k on coaching to this point and nothing had worked.
He even said:
“I got told paid ads don’t work to get agency clients”
I’ll be honest, I giggled a bit. '
We have clients booking 5-10 sales calls per day on paid ads right now.
With the track record he has, he could have scaled past 6 figure months by now if he had the right roadmap.
It’s disappointing, but it definitely confirms what I already thought about the coaching space:
There are a lot of bad actors and people that have never done anything.
It was lucky that my other client Abdul had told him about how I was the only agency/consultant who had ever gotten him results.
I think it is just the reality that most of the time, here’s what happens with people online:
Person discovers one hack that helps them get a result for one client
They use the hack and proof to get more clients
The hack stops working, new clients get no results
Because they ‘discovered’ the hack initially by copying someone else, there is no sauce to help them find new stuff to get results for their clients after the first hack stops working
I see it time and time again.
It sucks for the clients, and it probably sucks for the gurus as well because I can imagine they are scrambling to find new exploits haha.
The reality is, fundamentals are the only things that will get you consistent results over time.
Things like:
Understanding CAC:LTV
Understanding basic copywriting
Understanding how a funnel works
Understanding how to ascend clients from lower ticket offers
Understanding what makes a good offer
Understanding how to convert cold traffic into clients
And unfortunately, most people just skip this entire part of the equation.
It is sad. And it leads to not being able to get clients consistently.
Simply put:
You need to be able to turn a stranger into a client, or you don’t have a business.
9 times out of 10, some convoluted stuff on YouTube is not the alpha you need. If something is on YouTube, it is probably too late.
My client from today is a good example.
He had watched everyone’s videos. He had gone through every course and coaching program.
He had literally done everything.
That is what 99% of our clients say.
Then a few months later:
It just is what it is tbh.
