A common trap you can fall into
A common trap I see people fall into quite frequently is:
“Should I post quantity, or should I post quality?”
“Should I focus on high paying clients or low paying clients?”
“Should I focus on outreach or run ads?”
“Am I right in this scenario, or am I wrong?”
The reason it is so common is because it is basically a ‘low hanging fruit’ method of thinking.
It is easier if everything is categorised into black and white, and right and wrong.
But that’s not reality.
In reality, there is much more nuance, there are many more matters that are ‘grey’ and a lot of times the true answer is ‘both’ and not ‘it’s just that one.’
To be honest, the only way I figured this out was being exposed to conflict/arguments from a young age.
I won’t get into it too much, but once you’ve heard/been involved in enough arguments, you realise that if one person was so incorrect about their opinion, they probably wouldn’t believe it.
So it’s not necessarily that one person is trying to argue a position that is completely incorrect, and the other is correct.
It’s most likely that on some level, both people are correct, and it’s just that there are slight gaps and disagreements, and you just don’t want to admit that the other person is kind of right.
For example, if someone is angry at you for being a douche, and you are trying to say “I’m not a douche, you started it” - you were still probably being a douche.
→ It is not that one way or one person is right or wrong, it is always a spectrum.
You might see that as unrelated to posting quantity or quality, but it really just is highlighting the fact that viewing a scenario through the lens of “what is the black and white solution” is far too narrow, and is quite lazy thinking.
You want to learn how to analyse all things on a spectrum, and then be able to make decisions that are as close to correct as possible.
So when someone asks “should I post quality or quantity” there is only one answer:
