A Concerning Note From My Neighbour
Not too long ago, me and my brother (who I live with) got a dog.
See dog here.
The reason I bring that up is because for a while, she would always bark while I was on calls and recording videos.
You might have even heard her in some of them.
One day we got this note from our neighbour that roughly translated to:
“Hey idk if you guys got a dog or something, but if you did please make it shut the f*ck up because I am on the night shift and I need to sleep”
They didn’t actually swear or be rude in any way, that is just how I interpreted it.
Honestly it was pretty fair and I was fed up with the barking as well, so I decided to do something about it.
I asked one of my friend’s parents for a referral to a dog trainer, and they sent through his number
No joke, the trainer fixed the barking in less than an hour, and my dog turned into an angel.
Best $300 I have ever spent in my entire life and it’s not even close.
But the reason I bring that to you is not because I want to sell you dog training services.
It’s actually about how remarkable your service needs to be in order to get referrals.
I pay for services all the time from different agencies, consultants, employees etc and it is very rare that I am blown away.
But when I am blown away?
I haven’t shut up about how good this dog trainer is. I have told at least 10 people.
I was at my local cafe and my dog was behaving like a champ and three people were like “wtf how is your puppy so well behaved” and I just told them I paid this dog trainer.
There goes another three referrals.
This blokes lead gen must go absolutely insane.
The lesson in there is that if you can completely blow away your client or customer, they will actually have to stop themselves from talking about you to their friends because it becomes annoying.
Almost everyone who has met my dog knows about this dog trainer.
He is 10x better than I thought he’d be, and now he will probably get 10+ deals at least from me referring people to him.
Every client he gets, I bet he signs up 2-3 referrals at least.
So I was thinking “imagine if you could have a full marketing funnel AND get 2-3 referrals per client.”
It sounds insane, but I’ll scheme it.
After thinking about it for a while, I realised that you have to be remarkable for this to happen. Like you have to fully blow the client away.
For that to happen, you’ll need to focus on improving your service either daily or weekly. Probably more like daily. You’ll also need some clean onboarding systems, a well trained team, and really good project management.
So I’ll be honing all of these as I go.
If you want some fast ways to improve your service and get more referrals, I made an Offers Training about this a while ago.

Ciao.
