Copywriting Trick 2x'd Conversions

This week I have reviewed a bunch of ads and been building new swipe files for my clients.

From doing that, I realised I have given the same piece of advice ten times, and once we’ve changed it, our results have been 2-3x better.

If you don’t know much about paid ads, the basics are that you are just trying to find as many of these little gains as possible so you can milk the ads for what they’re worth.

I also talked about this on Instagram, which you can find here (link). I included three ways you can get more out of a winning ad campaign.

But anyway, when you are running ads, you are basically just selling your stuff to as many people as possible at once.

A key part of that is articulating things in a way that the highest amount of people can understand.

You will have heard people say “write in a 5th grade reading level” which is true, but not what I’m talking about here.

What I’m talking about here is using language that:

  • The ideal customers can conceptualise (remember, we’re doing B2B ads, not B2C)

  • Communicates the stakes/potential benefits properly

  • Implies social proof/status

Every time you can sneak these things in, you’re doing better.

For example:

  1. "You could be losing revenue” → Businesses in NICHE who still do {common thing} are losing %X of their revenue because of Z. {then give really strong logic}

  2. “You could get more out of X thing” → The average client that implements this generates an extra $X with no extra work

  3. “You can double the output here” → You can double the output here, which means you could free up an extra XYZ every month if you just did X

The key here is to keep your language in the realm of what the prospect is aware of or conscious of.

Specific to the example, you are leveraging the common mistake they are already doing to introduce the mechanism you are promoting (whether it be a lead magnet or intro offer).

In the other examples, it is more about just turning a word like ‘more’ into a specific outcome the prospect can see in their mind, and driving home what it actually is instead of staying in the realm of imagination.

Remember, people scrolling short form or or on social media are NOT paying attention. Not only do you have to keep it simple, you have to be specific and clear.

When you do this effectively, you’ll dominate.

Hope this help

PS:

Someone in my YouTube comments asked me to share this doc.

It goes over some of the stuff we’ve been doing with clients to help them hit 6 figure months.

It is worth a read, here it is (link)
