Don’t Ask Permission, Go Further

After my email yesterday which revealed one of my favourite things to do on Sunday’s, someone replied:

“Hey, is it a good idea to do this in Asana?”

To which I answered “sure.”

I don’t want to call this guy out or anything, but it is a symptom of consuming too much content.

If you find yourself asking basic questions and hesitating over minor details, you want to keep this in mind.

→ Eg, does it matter if you do it in Asana, Google docs or a sheet of paper?

→ Why do you feel the need for ‘permission’ to do something your way?

Again - not to shit on this guy but it’s worth keeping in mind if you share similar traits. If you want to make more money, you’ll want to bias towards taking huge amounts of action and pulling levers that will make a massive difference in your business.

Often times this will mean doing stuff in your own way, and doing it much faster than what you are currently.

Go further.

→ Example:

Instead of just using my exact Google doc thing from yesterday, you can create a new template in Asana that suits your needs.

Maybe you have to add or subtract.

But now you have a system you can use that is more efficient than whatever generalised thing I made in 5 seconds.

It’s a small thing, and it’s not a big deal to ask a simple question like whether to use a software or not, but like I said, it does reveal something that commonly pops up with people below 100k/mo.

You need relentless action on the right levers, and you need to wire your brain to think “yeah this is not a real problem. Let me re-focus."

Doing this will save you a lot of time.

Hope this helps.

Ciao.
