Fear Is The Mind Killer
I just watched the movie “Dune” on my way back to Australia from Dubai.
Was pretty good.
But what stood out to me was this one quote:
“Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.”
It is true.
If you allow yourself to be overcome by fear, you will get destroyed.
Fear of scaling your business to fast and ruining your reputation
Fear that you aren’t good enough
Fear that you will fail
Fear that you will capitulate under the stress
These are all real and valid fears.
But the lesson is - if you are to succeed, you will need to keep going in spite of this fear.
The question you have to answer for yourself is:
→ Am I able to continue to take action while I’m scared? Can I keep going when it’s tough?
That is up to you.
To be truthful, some are and some aren’t.
That is just the reality of it. Some business gurus like saying “anyone can run a business” and that is true to an extent but not at scale.
I believe anyone can achieve moderate success (30-50k/mo) but getting past that gets a little tougher.
To get beyond that level, you have to release your fear, hire people, put your foot on the gas, deal with more clients and responsibility etc.
It just gets harder.
But - like I said - you cannot afford to get paralysed here. You must push through.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
Remember this when you are doubting yourself or when things are going terribly.
The only way you lose is if you quit.
