Some home truths about reaching the next level

Here are some home truths:

  1. If you are financially scarce (less than 6 figs in bank) your most valuable resource is probably time

  2. According to Hormozi (at one of his masterminds) the best CEO’s are the ones who are the best at “allocating resources”

  3. Therefore, if you sit at your desk all day, opening Slack, checking client campaigns, constantly responding to messages and “putting out fires” you are wasting your most valuable resource (time) which makes you a less effective CEO. And even worse, it takes away your ability to make a strategy (a strategy is basically a planned way of allocating resources, so if you waste your best resource, you have no strategy).

Don’t get me wrong, it is so easy to fall into these traps.

Personally, Slack and responding to clients is my biggest weakness.

But that problem resonates, here is how to solve it.

  1. Getting calm, stoic and objective about your situation. Admit your weaknesses and strengths.

  2. Find the 2-3 things that, if done well, will take you and your business to the next level. For me right now, this is Instagram reels, building a brand, and making better ads.

  3. Understand that you may need to ‘open up’ time so you can purely focus on the important stuff. Use this quick exercise to help you figure out where you’re wasting time. Maybe you need a CSM. Maybe a campaign manager.

Either way, the only thing that guarantees that you don’t grow is to do nothing and expect different results,

It is that simple.
