My Thoughts On 'Alternative' Lead Generation Strategies

Every now and then someone will ask me about something like sending automated Twitter DMs, discord outreach, or some left of field strategy they have to generate leads.

Let me be clear.

I have directly worked with 300 or 400 agencies and B2B companies ranging from people at 10k per month all the way to 100m/year.

We are working specifically on generating more leads.

At NO point, did ‘Twitter DMs’ or any of these underground tactics come up. Even things like Upwork are a waste of time.

One month of 60 minutes per day sending cold looms on LinkedIn then sending them an email straight after will do more for your pipeline than 100,000 automated Twitter cold DMs

Why would you play in the G League when you could just focus on getting into the NBA?

Cold outreach, paid ads, content and partnerships.

That is it.

Nothing else is required.

I’m not saying you need to stop doing the other stuff if that is what is making you money, but you absolutely need to focus on getting these things going.

Even at 1,000 cold emails per day, $50 per day on ads, and 2 YT videos per week, you will get enough leads to grow.

Why the hell would you want to attract people looking to spend $100 on Upwork? Or burn your reputation with Twitter DMs?

I get it because you want to get revenue in the door.

If that is the case, just send 10 personalised videos per day to prospects.

  • Actually research

  • Solve a problem

  • Make it short and sharp

  • Don’t beg for their business, just give value

See what that does for your pipeline.

Step one. Setup your day like this.

Step two. Don’t deviate from the routine.

Step three. Wait 3-6 months.

It’s boring, but you will be far richer and more comfortable as a result.

So check out the video, then get started on step two.

Talk soon,
