The most underrated method of getting clients
These days, it is harder and harder to get clients.
As more people flock to paid ads, cold email gets more saturated and more people figure out that using an intro offer is the best way to scale (I obviously didn’t invent this, but have been using it to scale agencies for a while) - it is natural to understand that more competition = you need to be better.
But, you can also be different.
Instead of reaching out to your ideal customers, make a list of 10 businesses who provide a different service to you, but work with the same customers and make a referral partnership with them so you can share each others clients.
So for example if you run a paid ads agency, you might make a list of email marketing agencies, landing page agencies, and SEO agencies.
The point here is that you can all work with the same types of companies, but you aren’t going to steal each other’s clients.
This way, if you find just one good partner, you can sign 5, 10 or 20+ clients just by finding one good partner.
But, once you have the list, you still need to reach out to the other service providers with a great offer so they don’t just tell you to piss off straight away.
When you’re pitching these potential partners there are three things to keep in mind.
How is it going to benefit them? This might be a referral fee or some type of commission
How you are going to make sure you won’t embarrass them because they will be sharing clients with you, and if you do a bad job it makes them look bad. This will come in the form of a guarantee and some type of social proof or case studies.
You want to mention the special offer you have for their clients specifically. This is not strictly necessary, but it can get you 2-3x better results. A good example of this might be a free sample of work or some type of free trial so you can show results up front rather than just trying to take their money straight away.
If you do this, I guarantee you make more money.
