Why You Need Every Acquisition Channel
Quite often someone will ask me:
“Do you really need to do all that stuff?” when referencing the 1000x funnel.
Paid ads, cold outreach, content, partnerships, lead magnets, etc.
The real answer is - no, you are not forced to grow your business.
In fact, 99% of people will never do all of these things at once.
The same way 99.9% of people will never grow their business from 0-900k/mo in 12 months.
To get that many leads, you need to use all of the channels.
If you want to book 5-10 sales calls per month from referrals, just rely on doing one of them.
The Problem With Getting 10 Calls Per Month
You can’t charge what you want because you have no control over pipeline
You’ll have feast and famine months because you have no control over pipeline
You get pushed around by clients but you can’t fire them because you have no control over pipeline
Your bank account is at the mercy of when your clients feel like giving you a referral
You are delaying building your company’s brand and procrastinating something that will need to happen eventually.
There is another concept called the ‘infinite cycle of lead gen’ that explains this well (Matt goes deeper on this here).
This is what happens when you generate more leads:

But either way, having all these channels and working this hard on generating leads gives you all the power, and all the leverage in your client interactions.
You end up taking sales calls and saying things like:
“Yeah to be honest I have another 10 calls today, so you can buy if you want or we can just save time and never speak again”
And actually mean it.
How The Channels Work Together
On top of the infinite cycle of lead gen, once you have paid ads, cold email, content and partnerships, they work together to give each other better results:
People will see your paid ads, then subscribe to your YouTube channel
Your YouTube subscribers will be seeing your cold emails
Your online brand will make potential partners trust you more
Your LinkedIn connections will refer you their friends, just because they know you deliver X service
It is like leads are falling from the sky, and you have no idea where they came from.
When that happens, growing your business is the easy part, and it becomes more about employee training, recruiting etc.
